Faldoni, parts 2980 - 2983

2980. Most likely the “new every day,” theory has to be correct, because everywhere one looks in God’s creation all you can find are endless variations on a theme. There are millions of different tulips, trillions of different shaped diamonds and billions of differently formed arms and legs, growing out of endless variations of bodies of all shapes and sizes.

2981. Obviously the great creative force of the universe likes nothing better that to change things around for one minute to the next, never becoming tired of inventing new forms. Are you going to try and tell me that the same Mind that makes every shape that has ever existed just a little different from every other shape, going to be content with one and only one sun and moon that stay the same from one millennium to another? That just seems very unlikely.

2982. This question of the shapes created by the movement of the sun and the moon had an obvious and pertinent application to the question of cathedral construction. A cathedral needs to be a microcosm of the universe. If the universe is spherical then the cathedral should obviously be spherical also, but spherical cathedrals when they were tried, always tended to tip over.

2983. This tipping over of the spherical cathedrals added weight to the argument that the sun ceases to exist at night. If the sun does not exist at night then all you have to consider is the flat earth, and the half circle of the path of the sun to use as your format for a cathedral. This shape is the letter “D” turned over on its back.
